The Gnostic Centre conducts several
programmes for children of all ages,
starting from age 4 up to 16-year olds. While
self-development is
a focus for the adolescents, with children, the emphasis is on:
• Training of the Mind (powers of concentration, observation, reasoning,
imagination)
•
Refinement of Character (qualities of courage, beauty, leadership)
• Training of the Physical (developing strength, stamina, balance, etc. &
training the senses)
Besides organising the programmes
at the Centre,
talks and meditation sessions are also conducted in schools.
The programmes are in the form
of:
• Talks
• Workshops
• Study programmes
• Courses
• Activity Series
•
Camps
Initially the Centre began with
offering workshops for children from diverse backgrounds. The focus was
primarily on themes such as:
Gradually these developed into
full-scale
Summer Activity Series on themes such as:
• My Body Miraculous
• My Master Mind
• The Young Explorer
• Discover Your Hidden Treasures
Based on the response and need of
the children, Residential Camps were designed:
• Exploration, Adventure & Self-discovery Camp
• Leadership Camp
As word spread about the Centre's
work with children, schools invited the Centre to hold special sessions with
the students in the school itself. The main demand was for sessions on
Meditation.
The latest venture has been a
10-month long
Course
on Leadership (July 2007 to April 2008) - for 10-13 year olds.
